Divines
Appearance
-
Ethereal beings which come in many shapes and sizes whilst living on Azatheer the Blue ('heaven').
-
They are a step below angels, so they do not identify as such. In fact, they see themselves as the citizens of heaven, not the guardians.
-
Their appearance usually reflects the religion they are part of, as Azatheer is host to all cultures' versions of 'heaven'.
-
Associate the religion with the country in which it is primarily practiced on Earth, for reference.
-
-
A divine can also be a talking dog.
-
If you choose to do this, you will be at a great disadvantage in the rp. Understand that you can't just wander around as a dog in public. You need a solid means of executing this.
-
-
All divines have a set of angel wings which can come in many different bird-feathers. The most common wing-type is that of the dove. All feathers glow in the dark with a radiant white aura.
Origins
-
Divines hail from a planet in the Cosmos known as 'Azatheer' the blue, or 'Heaven' as many cultures know it as. The planet is a beautiful take on all religions' 'heavens' combined, separated by seas of clouds. It's a true privilege to go there after death. Only the souls of pure intentions may find themselves a home here.
-
When a good soul passes on to the gates of Azatheer, they are assigned one of the seven holy virtues depending on how they carried themselves in life: Chastity, Temperance, Charity, Diligence, Patience, Kindness, or Humility.
-
The soul of the dead is asked if they would like to return to earth, reincarnated with another appearance to spread the virtues of Azatheer. If they agree, they may choose their new appearance and descend back to earth.
-
Their age may be no younger than 18, or older than 50.
-
They are not permitted to lie and make up a new, false backstory. They must simply never reveal who they are and earn the trust of their new companions and associated on earth.
-
-
A reborn divine can choose to keep all of their old memories if they wish. If they ever reach out to their old friends and loved ones, however, they will be taken back to heaven in exactly one month's time. From then on, they will not be permitted to return to earth again.
-
Azatheer shares the same solar-system as Drothoth, which is the same concept but 'Hell'. Demons reside on this planet and have been at war with Azatheer forevermore.
-
When the demons of Drothoth descended upon earth, Azatheer rushed right after them to stop their spread of sin by coaxing humans into virtuous lives. So long as people continued to be good, Azatheer would win the war against Drothoth once and for all.

History
-
There is absolutely no recorded history of the Divines other than what is read in historical religious text. The denizens of Azatheer are very precise and don't allow their reputations to sully. They did briefly have a dilemma with the zombies, but only the oldest demons know about this particular lore.

Modern Day
-
When the Supernatural Supreme Court (the governing force of the supernaturals) became more prominent toward the end of the 1600s, the divines made themselves better known to them. They were advisers in times of true, sinful corruption, and great strife.
-
The SSC will frequently try to summon them in order to proclaim that the graces of Azatheer are on their side- but the divines know better than to give the greedy wizards that much gloating privilege. They have their own mission, first and foremost.
-
Until the day when the demons truly rise up, the divines will continue to remain quite subtle.

Noteworthy People
-
The Many Gods: There is no true god of Azatheer. There is only a council of many gods which represent their religions. They are a massive council which discusses issues together in order to know how to tackle them. Divines will tend to favour the gods which are from their chosen religion.
-
Baltu: The dog god. He's a revered and uplifting soul which wanders around Azatheer. He comes in the form of a giant golden retriever, and is usually accompanied by a pack of only the best dogs of the past. He is known to send his companions down to earth in order to guide the lost to safety.

Advanced Lore
-
A divine is immortal until they are corrupted or lose their holy powers. In which case, they become a plain normie for 3 months until they right their wrongs, otherwise, they will be snatched back into Azatheer and re-evaluated.
-
Divines are constantly being watched. They know that they are not alone. So if they fall to sin, the process of losing their powers will be instant. A divine's powers run on honouring the holy virtues.
-
The more people a divine can successfully help, the stronger they can become.
-
A Divine can return to Azatheer through a holy portal or by praying for a return. If the praying method is used, they will be brought back via a smaller portal depending on if the request is worthy.
-
Praying for an escape from danger is not worthy, unfortunately. Divines are expected to be able to get out of most situations on their own.
-
-
Divines can reproduce with most races. So long as they are married to the person in question, their children will be divines, too. If they are not married, the child will take on the other parent's race, and the Divine will have their wings removed until they can repent.
-
They have wings that they can expose whenever they want, they retract entirely into the back.
-
Divines follow a singular virtue over all the others, even if they do practice them all. Each virtue-type has its own special ability.
-
Divines cannot walk into Hell painlessly. The longer time they are exposed to corruption, the more they will start to feel their holiness melt away.
-
Once the holiness is gone, they will turn into a normie.
-
If they are continuously exposed, they can be turned into a demon.
-
-
By nature, a divine is compelled to interfere when they see a sin happening. Very few divines are able to stop themselves from marching over and stopping someone from doing a bad thing.
