Normies
Appearance
-
I should hope you know what a human looks like! Normies in this roleplay can appear precisely how any normal human would look in real life.
Origins
-
Humans have existed precisely for as long as they have. There is nothing significant to note here.

History
-
Normies have been the driving force on earth since they first came to be. Despite having no magic of their own... or anything supernatural for that matter... they make up for it in brains and innovation.
-
In earlier times, before technology truly took off, normies would revere the supernaturals. They would treat them as wondrous mystics which could change their lives for better or for worse depending on how they were treated.
-
Once normies discovered how to stand up for themselves with tremendous power via technology, there was no need to depend upon the supernaturals for their magic. In fact, just to prove to the supernaturals that they weren't a force to be reckoned with, they tried to contain and govern magic.
-
To avoid being corralled and contained by normie rule, supernaturals proceeded to sip into the shadows around the early 1500s. They were forgotten about, banished to myth.
-
However, every time an uncharted supernatural showed themselves, they were hastily 'dealt with' by the normie governors. They were seen as potentially too dangerous to let out in public. Witches were burned, vampires were stabbed, and werewolves were skinned alive.

Modern Day
-
The ignorance toward the supernaturals has persisted. They are now believed to be mere fairy tales.
-
Most normies are completely unaware that there are supernatural societies living among them. In fact, any normies who have discovered their existence tend to very quickly end up institutionalized from fear alone, or worse, captured by the SSC.
-
Normies which have chosen to submit to the SSC (the governing heads of the supernatural world) become Oathbound. The process to becoming Oathbound is swearing the secrecy of the supernaturals and permitting the SSC to take a sample of blood for their records. The normie will then be given a bronze badge. The badge is etched with the SSC symbol which is a star inside of earth. Showing this to a supernatural will confirm your Oathboundship.

Noteworthy People
-
Remmy Whittleborough: The first Oathbound normie. He was sworn in in 1813 after bearing witness to his wife casting magic on their cat (of which turned into a lizard). Instead of losing his memories to the SSC's 'very humane' methods of mind wiping, they gave him an exception. From then on, the SSC realized that some normies could potentially keep a secret.
-
Alene Duerk: The first female US Navy admiral. After becoming exposed to Merfolk in 1973 she was taken in and made Oathbound to the SSC. She recommended getting some of the world's law enforcers involved with the SSC to aid them in their pursuit of keeping the secret. Because of her, a lot of supernatural accidents have been more easily covered up.
-
Justin Marin: An anti-secrecy activist who planned on exposing the world to the supernatural in July of 2019. He almost succeeded and had the entire supernatural world quivering for a solid month. He was disgruntled after hearing how sketchily the SSC handled things. Not being privy to cults, he wanted to destroy them in any way he could. Unfortunately, this lead to him being hunted down and eventually shipped off to Bermuda (the largest and most secret Supernatural jail). It was later discovered that he was related to Bradley Gomas, the world's most wanted necromancer (read more in Wizards)

Advanced Lore
-
Just because someone is a normie, doesn't mean they don't have potential to eventually learn magic. Magic can come to people very late. Sometimes it can even be blessed to them by Gods and powerful magic entities.
